Assembly candidate Barbara LoMoriello Announces Plan to Cut Costs for Seniors

New York State Assembly candidate Barbara LoMoriello today announced her plan to help make Long Island more affordable for seniors.  LoMoriello says, “ Long Island residents need more than empty promises out of Washington and Albany .  We need real change to make sure we pay our doctor’s bills and utility bills, and afford to keep our homes, without sacrificing everything we’ve worked for.  It’s time for results.”

Seniors, in particular, are affected by the rising property taxes and health care costs.  “Our leaders have failed our seniors and it is time for change and my plan will help make Long Island more affordable for seniors” says LoMoriello.  Her plan calls for:

·        Cutting property taxes by expanding the STAR program;

·        Cutting wasteful state spending to reduce tax payer costs;

·         Increasing state aid to reduce local taxes;

·        Eliminating the state energy tax;

·        Encouraging bulk purchasing of prescription drugs;

·        Providing universal health care; and

·        Making preventive screenings free.

      Barbara LoMoriello says, “These are common sense measures that will dramatically help our senior population.”

LoMoriello noted that she will work with Eliot Spitzer to provide new leadership and new ideas that the people of the 10th Assembly District need and deserve. Unlike her opponent, she is not a career politician and will not subscribe to the status quo.

Long Island residents need someone who will fight for what matters most to them, like lower taxes. As the general election nears, I’ll continue to spread my message for change throughout the Long Island community and am confident that voters will make the right decision for Long Island on November 7.”  For more details of Barbara LoMoriello’s plan go to www.barbaralomoriello.com.
